David is a Managing Director in FGMK’s Tax Practice. He has over 20 years of experience advising limited liability companies, partnerships, and S-corporations.

David specializes in partnership taxation, with a concentration in the investment management industry. He has significant experience advising hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, broker-dealers and real estate enterprises. He has also worked with several publicly-traded REITs.

Prior to joining FGMK in 2020, David served in national roles at some of the largest international accounting firms, including a role as technical lead for Deloitte’s Investment Management practice. He has led entire partnership tax practices and was the chair of the tax department of a national law firm specializing in private equity. He serves as a technical resource and expert witness for clients and other professionals in major markets across the United States and internationally, including spending much of his career in New York and Los Angeles. He is a recognized thought leader in the investment management space and advises clients in private equity, hedge, venture capital, and real estate industries as well as other industries. He has taught federal income taxation of partnerships at various law schools and graduate accounting programs. David is a frequent speaker and presenter at industry events. He began his career as a member of Arthur Andersen’s national pass-thru and real estate teams.
